In-house Underwriting Training

We offer a comprehensive in-house training program for all new underwriters. This training has been developed and delivered by experienced insurance professionals and senior leaders. Training is provided by video conference to provide cross country reach in our 9 offices.


Throughout your career in underwriting or claims, it is important that you are learning from your colleagues and vice versa. Mentoring provides the mutual benefit of knowledge sharing and development for those new to the industry as well as experienced professionals. You may be matched with a specific mentor to support the achievement of your development plan. Alternatively, you may have the ability to informally and regularly connect with a number of your colleagues who can support your learning.  Mentoring may be set up as a formal or more casual arrangement based on your development needs.

Industry Courses for Underwriting and Claims Professionals

You are strongly encouraged to register for CIP (Certified Insurance Professional) courses. Educational assistance is provided, regarding tuition reimbursement, and study/exam time.

Claims – Lunch/Learn sessions

We offer a variety of lunch and learn sessions presented by our service providers to ensure our claims professionals are up to date on the critical legal and contractual issues that impact them.

Other ways to learn new skills and increase your network:

    Volunteer assignments
    Committee participation ( health and safety, sustainability, wellness, social, etc.)

If you are interested in focusing your talents on the specialized /technical field, you could achieve senior level positions within the company, that in the past have been traditionally reserved for only management level roles.
